The service
Hockeyletter shows ice hockey results, team form, standings and statistics for the leagues, teams and players you choose, on the web and by email every morning. It is free.
The figures come from the leagues' public websites. They can be late, incomplete or wrong, and the service can be down or change. Hockeyletter is provided as it is, without any guarantee.
Use the service for your own personal use. Do not misuse its forms, for example to send email to addresses that are not yours.
What we store
- Without subscribing: nothing. Your picks are in the page address. No cookies are set.
- When you subscribe: your email address, your favourite leagues, teams and players, the language of your emails, and when you confirmed, accepted these terms, last signed in and were last emailed.
- When you sign in: a session for at most one hour, with your IP address and browser name, then deleted. Signing in sets a cookie that ends when you close the browser.
- Server logs: the IP addresses and pages of requests, for security and fixing faults. Kept for up to 8 weeks.
- Feedback: what you write, and your email address if you give one, forwarded to the operator's email.
Why
To send the emails you subscribed to and to show your report. Nothing else: no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party scripts. Your data is not sold or shared.
Where
On Hockeyletter's own server at UpCloud in Helsinki, Finland. Emails are sent from that server, not through an outside email service.
How long
Until you unsubscribe. Every email ends with an unsubscribe link: one click deletes your email address and favourites at once. A sign-up that is not confirmed is deleted after 7 days.
Your rights
You can see, correct and delete your data. Favourites and email language are changed in Settings after signing in; unsubscribing deletes everything. For anything else, use the feedback form. You can also complain to the data protection authority (in Finland, the Data Protection Ombudsman).
Changes
If these terms change, the date above changes. Significant changes are announced in the daily email.
